Reading - We are on the story "Horse Heroes". We will not have any written homework this week. We will be working extra hard in school to get our work finished due to the busy holiday season. Friday will be a test on the skills and vocabulary that go along with this story. The skills are fact/opinion, using context clues to figure out word meaning, and compound words. The vocabulary for the story are the words ambition, infested, landslide, quicksand, resistance, rickety, roamed, and vast. Next week we will focus on writing an expository piece. an expository pieces are writing about real people, places, or events.
Grammar- We are practicing singular possessive nouns. A singular possessive noun shows ownership and ends in an apostrophe and s ('s). For example: The girl's dress was red velvet. We will have a quiz on this on Friday. There will not be written homework on this as we will practice in school.
