Week of September 8 - 12, 2014

Spelling
Pretest in spelling on list 2 today. Homework will be to write all incorrect words correctly 3 times each. Post test will be on Friday.


Grammar- We are working on Imperative ( command) and Exclamatory (!) sentences this week. complete workbook p. 54 for homework Monday. Tuesday homework will be to write 5 imperative and 5 exclamatory sentences in your notebooks. Wednesday we will review and homework for Wednesday will be to study. Thursday will be the quiz on this material. Friday NO homework.


Reading- Tests from "Because of Winn Dixie" will be coming home. Please review the test and bring back signed. We are starting the story "Lewis and Clark" today. Homework will be to complete workbook page 53 on the new vocabulary. We will be defining the words in class in our notebooks. Our skill for this week will be author's purpose, sequence, word endings -ed, -ing, and suffixes - or and -er. Homework for Tuesday will be the Words to Write assignment found on reading textbook p. 50. Wednesday's homework will be to reread the story Lewis and Clark and complete questions 1 - 4 on page 68. Answers should be written in your notebooks. Thursday's homework will be to review for the test on Friday by studying the vocabulary words.


Science - we are just getting into the "swing" of science. There will not be any homework for science this week unless noted as we get through the lessons. A quiz will be coming up early next week on the vocabulary cards, review the cards each night.
