Homework for week of January 13 - 17, 2014


Grammar- We will be reading and writing Narrative poems this week. We will also review verbs and begin main and helping verbs. Homework for Monday is a worksheet on Narrative poems. Tuesday - Friday we will compose our own narrative poems and edit and publish them in school.


Spelling - Monday will be the post test for the list on words ending in ed and ing.
we will introduce the next list on Tuesday ( homophones) and Wednesday we will have a pretest on the words. Wednesday's homework will be to write any corrections necessary from the pretest. Thursday and Friday we will work on pages 45- 48 in the spelling workbooks.


Reading - We will be working on our online story "The Man who Named the Clouds" this week. We will reread the beginning and then finish the story. All students can access this story and review the vocabulary on the website pearsonsuccessnet.com and log in (all students should know how to log in since we have practiced at school). There may be some workbook pages for homework this week if we do not get them finished in school so make sure you check your homework books!!! Test will be on Friday on the vocab words and there will be a fresh read to read and answer questions.


Science - We are going to continue working on our "home" group projects in school this week. I am hoping to wrap this project up early NEXT week and have each group present their poster, interview, and newspaper on the hurricanes, blizzards, thunderstorms, and tornadoes.
