Homework for week of April 4


Reading/ElA- We are finished our close reading activities on biomes. We will be reviewing figurative language this week and working on our story and skills for unit 5, week 4. We will be reading the story "Antarctic Journal". Our skill will be to identify the main idea and details. Study the vocabulary for this week , found in the family times letter. Our grammar lesson this week will be on time order words which include; meanwhile, first, before long, later on, soon, earlier, next, and as soon as. Review this in the family times letter.We will have a quiz on this on Thursday. Our pretest for spelling will be Monday. The list is on the family times letter and includes words with latin roots that include dict, rupt,port, and locate. Homework will be the usual, corrections on Monday, word search on Tuesday, ABC order on Wednesday and post test on Friday.

Math - We are finishing topic 16 on geometry on Monday. We will have our topic 16 test on Tuesday. Wednesday we will go back to topic 14 on measurement. We will cover 14-1 on Wednesday, 14-2 on Thursday, and 14-3 on Friday.

Science /social studies- In science we will be continuing a study of electricity and magnetism. In social studies we will continue to read and discuss PA history.


The annual chinese auction is coming up soon. Please try to send in something for our basket. We have picked the theme "earth friendly products". Some things that have been donated so far have been; metal water bottles, recycled aluminum foil and trash bags, long lasting, energy efficient light bulbs, all natural cleaning spray, and cleaning materials such as vinegar. We welcome anything at all that would be non toxic to use in our environment! Thanks to all who donated. We will still be accepting donations this week.
