week of March 28 - April 1, 2016

Homework for this week:


Reading - this week we will be doing another close reading selection about another biome. We will be reading and answering questions about the tiaga. We will also discuss the week's vocabulary words and read the story "The Lost city " from our reading text in small groups. Homework in reading will be to study the vocabulary and skill for the story "Cliff Hanger" found in the family times newsletter.


Grammar - We will learning about comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs this week. Comparative is when 2 things are compared. Comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs end in -er or use the words more or less. Superlative adjectives and adverbs end in -est or use the words most or least when comparing more than two things. Quiz will be Thursday.


spelling - pretest on Monday with corrections for homework. Tuesday will be the word search and Wednesday homework will be the ABC order sheet. Post test will be on Friday. Remember to study the list on the family times newsletter.


Math - We are continuing with topic 16. Homework will be 16-7 on Monday, 16-8 on Tuesday, 16-9 on Wednesday, 16-10 on Thursday, and 16-11 on Friday. Test on this topic will be Monday, April 4.

Science - we will be wrapping up habitats and ecosystems this week and starting electricity and magnetism.


social studies- we will be continuing our lessons on PA. We will start to learn the history of PA. Check assignment books for any homework this week.


chinese auction theme basket- we have decided to do a "green" basket, with natural cleaning and household products. We want to include different eco-friendly products to use in our home and environment. Some ideas can be recycled product including paper or paper products, natural plant-based cleaning or household items, reusable metal drink bottles, etc...
