week of October 19-23,2015

Following is the tentative homework for this week

Spelling - The pretest is Monday, homework will be write the words three times each. Tuesday's homework will be to write the words in ABC order, Wednesday is complete a word search with the list words. Thursday's homework is to study for Friday's post test. The list words are as follows: monkeys, friends, plays, supplies, taxes, holidays, months, companies, costumes, sandwiches, hobbies, daisies, delays, scratches, counties, teammates, memories, bunches, batteries, donkeys. Challenge words are : eyelashes, ambulances, trophies, secretaries, and inventories.


Grammar- this weeks lesson will be on common and proper nouns. Study the family times letter to review each day. Quiz will be on Thursday.



Reading- this week we will start unit 2. Our first story is a fiction story called What Jo Did. The skills for this week is cause and effect. We will also work on suffixes and prefixes. Review vocab found on the Family Times letter in the ELA folder. Tuesday's homework will be to write a short story or paragraph using the vocab words. Study vocab each night. Test will be Friday on the vocab and skills.


Math- we will be working on topic 4 lesson 6 on Monday. Homework is practice 4-6. Tuesday will be a review of topic 4, homework is to complete the problems on p. 110 and 111 in the math textbook. Work is to be completed in the math notebooks. Wednesday will be topic 4 test. Thursday we will start topic 1. Thursday's homework will be practice 1-1.
