Week of April 23 - 27, 2012

Kindergarten news for the week of April 23 – 27, 2012 • In phonics this week we will be working on the digraph sh as in shark. We will resume show and tell this week. Show and tell will be on Thursday, April 26. We will also have word list test 21 on Monday, April 23. I will send the next word list test home next Monday. • In reading we are starting Unit 6. The theme for this unit is “How do homes help us survive and enjoy life?. Our first story will be “Homes Around the World”. This is an informational text. Our focus skill will be compare and contrast. • In math we will be practicing the numbers 11-20. We will also be sorting coins and working with the quarter and the dollar. We will continue with tan grams and practice slides, flips, and turns. • In science we have finished wood and paper and are moving on to a unit on animals. • Monday will be day 1 in our five day cycle. We will have library class. Please remember your library books.
