Tentative homework for this week:
* All day chorus rehearsal is Monday, May 8th for all chorus members.
ELA - We will have our next pretest on Tuesday, May 10. The words go along with the story "My Brother Martin" and are as follows: stomach, science, gravel, normal, memory, remember, difficult, notify, Canada, forget, fortune, privilege, element, suppose, giant, cement, mystery, iron, architect, and yesterday.
In grammar we will be learning about conjunctions. Conjunctions are connecting words such as and, but, and or. They are used to join words, phrases, and sentences. We will have a quiz on conjunctions on Friday.
Reading - We will be working on the story "My Brother Martin". Our skill for this is to identify the cause and effect. We will also look closely at the latin root words gener and port ( as in the words generations, generate, generous, transport, import, export, report). Vocabulary for this week is as follows: Ancestors, avoided, generations, minister, numerous, pulpit, and shielding. Our test will be on Friday.
Math - We will be continuing topic 14 this week. We will cover 14-7 through 14-10 this week , so homework will be to complete the practice side of the corresponding workbook page. Homework will be 14-7 on Tuesday, 14-8 on Wednesday, 14-9 on Thursday, and 14-10 on Friday.
