Following is the tentative homework for this week:
Reading - We are starting a new story called "The Gasping Garbage". The genre of this story is realistic fiction. The question of the week is "Why can't you always believe what you think you see?". The vocabulary for this week are: analysis, beakers, hollow, identity, lecture, microscope, precise, and relentless. The skills we will focus on are : compare/contrast, visualizing, and synonyms and antonyms. Homework is as follows:
Monday - workbook p. 249 and p. 253
Tuesday - complete the "words to write" assignment written on page 25 of your reading text in your reading notebook
Wednesday- Finish questions on page 42 in your reading textbook on the story "Gasping Garbage"
Thursday- Test on Gasping garbage vocab and skills will be Monday, April 6.
Grammar- We are working on singular and plural pronouns ( both classes). There will be a quiz on this on Thursday.
Homework for the week is as follows:
Monday- 4R- workbook p. 303, 4N- wkbk p. 257
Tuesday - 4R -study, 4N workbook p. 303
Wednesday - study ( both classes)
Thursday - quiz
Spelling - we are not having a new list this week . We will start with a pretest next week. The words will go along with the story "Encantado". The words are : chicken, eleven, brother, jungle, natural, together, calendar, needle, several, summer, threaten, caterpillar, paddle, animal, pitcher, shelter, oval, frighten, mumble, and deliver. The pretest will be next Tuesday, April 7.
science- We are starting chapter 5 on rocks and minerals. It is a good idea to review the vocabulary that goes along with this chapter daily.
