Homework for the week of November 17 - 21, 2014
Spelling - We are having a pretest Monday on the list that goes with the story "Scene Two". Corrections are due tomorrow ( Tuesday), three times each. Post test will be on Friday. The list is as follows: morning, forest, garbage, form, alarm, corner, story, argue, backyard, start, partner, storm, Florida, apartment, sport, force, forward, sharp, garden, and Arkansas. Challenge words are : departure, margarine, informative, snorkel, and carnation.
Grammar- We are practicing forming regular plural nouns. A plural noun names more than one person, place, or thing. Plural nouns are formed by adding s or es. Please remember that in some cases you need to change the y to i before adding es. Test on this will be Thursday. Homework will be to study each night and may be a worksheet or two before Thursday.
reading - Test will be Thursday on skills from story "Coyote School News". The vocabulary that go along with this story are : bawling, dudes, coyote, roundup, and spurs. The skills covered are drawing conclusions and students should also be familiar with words with North American or Spanish origin such as moccasins, siesta, wigwam, mustang, adobe, matador, and Adios. Homework for this week is as follows: Monday - complete questions 1-5 on textbook p. 220. Write complete answers in your notebooks. Tuesday's homework will be to complete workbook p. 126, the use of a dictionary ( online or book form) may be necessary to complete this page. Wednesday's homework will be to review the vocabulary and skills mentioned above for Thursday's test. Thursday will be the test and homework will be to rewrite the news articles that we are working on this week. Friday there will be no homework.
Science- This week we will be completing lessons 1 and 2 on chapter 3. Homework will be determined daily if needed.
