Week of January 7- 11, 2013

Monday, January 7

Grammar- we will have a test tomorrow on Main and helping verbs. Please study grammar practice book pages 45 - 48.

Reading- We are working on the scavenger hunt for the story "Adelina's Whales". Test will be on WEdnesday, please study the vocabulary and scavenger hunt papers. Also, any who have chosen to complete the tri-fold for extra points, it is due Wednesday.

Science- We are doing a packet on Whales. Part of this will be a reading grade and part of it will be a science grade. The entire packet is due on Friday.

Spelling - lesson 12 , homophones.. test is going to be Wednesday.

VO- test on words 1 -65 on Thursday.




Tuesday, Jan 8

Grammar- test today on main and helping verbs, no homework tonight


Reading - study the scavenger hunt on the story "Adelina's Whales", test tomorrow


Science - whale packets are due friday

VO- Test on words 1 -65 on Thursday


Wednesday, Jan 9


Grammar- grammar practice book p. 50 on subject-verb agreement

Reading- No homework, test today on "Adelina's Whales"

spelling - test today on list 12, no homework

VO - STUDY.. words 1 - 65 , test tomorrow!


Thursday, Jan 10


Grammar- complete grammar book p. 51

Reading- read and complete p. 317 in your reading story book. Do the work in your reading notebook. ( this homework is replacing the vocabulary sentences we were doing)

Spelling - Pretest tomorrow on list 13 which goes with the story " How Night Came From the Sea". ( use page 49 in your spelling book to study the list)

VO- We will have one big review test next Thursday on all of the second marking period packet. Review each night. Anyone getting a 100% on this test will be rewarded with an ice cream party hosted by the reading department.

Science- Whale packets are due tomorrow.


Friday, Jan 11

Grammar- complete grammar book p. 52, test will be Tuesday on this lesson

Reading- complete reading practice book p. 126 AND p. 128 ( only those pages, not the pages between)

Spelling - Corrections 5 times each for anyone who needs to complete. Also, p. 49 , 50, 51, 52 will be due on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
