This week in math we will continue working on place value. We are working on writing numbers in standard form, expanded form and notation, and word form. An example of this would be : 8,384 (standard form), 8,000+300+80+4 ( expanded form), (8x1000) + (3x100)+ (8x10) + (4x1) expanded notation, and eight thousand, three hundred, eighty-four ( word form).
Written homework will start this week. There will be approximately 5 problems each night to complete. Students should also continue to study their times table sheet that is in their blue folders. It is extremely important to have a strong knowledge of the times tables in order to be able to master the skills we will be working on this year.
