Week of March 14- 18, 2016

Homework for this week:


Reading - this week we will be doing another close reading selection about another biome. We will be reading and answering questions about the savannah. We will also discuss the week's vocabulary words and read the story "Smokejumpers " from our reading text in small groups. Homework in reading will be to study the vocabulary on the family times newsletter.


Grammar - We will be learning about adjectives and articles this week. Adjectives are parts of speech that describe nouns or pronouns. Articles are the words a, an, and the. Review using the family times letter each night. Quiz will be on Friday.


spelling - pretest on Monday with corrections for homework. Tuesday will be the word search and Wednesday homework will be the ABC order sheet. Post test will be on Friday. study the list on the family times newsletter.


Math - We are wrapping up topic 12 this week. Monday we will be finishing the chapter with 12-11. Tuesday we will do a review activity in small groups. Test will be Wednesday. Thursday we will start topic 16 on lines, angles, and shapes. Homework will be 16-1 on Thursday and 16-2 on Friday.

Science - we will be wrapping up habitats and ecosystems this week and starting electricity and magnetism.


social studies- we will be continuing our lessons on PA. We will start to learn the history of PA. Check assignment books for any homework this week.


chinese auction theme basket- we have decided to do a "green" basket, with natural cleaning and household products. We will send home a list of some ideas to contribute to our basket this week. If you have any ideas to share, please let us know. We want to include different eco-friendly products to use in our home and environment. Some ideas can be recycled product including paper or paper products, natural plant-based cleaning or household items, reusable metal drink bottles, etc...
