Week of September 22 - 26, 2014

Homework for this week is as follows:
*Please note that there are days that I may decide to alter the homework a bit. Please make sure you check your child's assignment book, that will always be the most accurate. If you find that your child is not accurately copying their homework, please let me know and I will check their assignment books.


Spelling - Pretest Monday for List 4 ( words will go with story "The Horned Toad Prince")
corrections 3 times each for those who need to complete. Post test will be Friday!


Grammar- We will be going over simple subject, complete subject, simple predicate, complete predicate, compound subject, and compound predicate on Monday and Tuesday. Monday's homework will be a practice worksheet that will be sent home. Tuesday's homework will be to STUDY. Quiz on subject/predicate was originally planned for Wednesday, but is now moved to Thursday. On Friday there will be NO grammar homework. We will be working on writing a humorous story called a parody so there may be some homework sent home to finish up something on Thursday, Friday or early next week.



reading - We will be reading the story "On the Banks of Plum Creek" this week and practicing identify the literary elements of characters, setting, and plot. Monday's homework will be to complete workbook p. 68 and study vocab words, Tuesday will be to study vocab words. Wednesday will be to answer questions 1-4 on page 100 of the reading text in notebooks. Thursday's homework will be to study the vocabulary and brush up on skills characters, setting, and plot for a reading test on Friday. There will be no reading homework over the weekend.
