WELCOME BACK!!!!! August 24-28, 2014
Thank you to all of the boys, girls and parents that were able to make it to Meet the Teacher on Wednesday August 20th! It was very nice meeting everyone; unfortunately in such a short span there were so many faces and names, I may have forgotten a few.
The first week of school is about procedures, practices, and reacquainting ourselves back into school mode. Please be patient with me as I am "under construction" as well as the whole district is. As Dr. Ackell said, not just the physical facilities are undergoing construction projects, but the classrooms are too with academics. We are going to work diligently and consciously on making the grade! We will work together as classmates, teachers & staff, administration and most importantly you the parents. Please remember that the homework written on here may not coincide with what your child has in the assignment book. The assignment book is done daily and the homework helpline is done weekly unless something comes up. Therefore, the assignment book is the most reliable source for homework and is to be filled out each day.
Homework for the week:
Please have the signed papers back by Friday. I need to alphabetize them and turn them in to the correct office.
This year there are 3 hardcover textbooks. They MUST be covered by Friday as well. A book cover is to protect the book, binding, and pages from spills, tears, etc. Newspaper, wrapping paper, paper bags, and of course book socks work. Please do not use contact paper as that makes the book sticky then.
Cell phones must be turned off and in the student's book bag. Myself nor North Schuylkill are not responsible if lost, stolen or damaged. There will be electronic day rewards monthly were students will be permitted x amount of time to have them out in class.
Spartan Spirit Days will continue throughout the school year falling on the last day of the week. Students are permitted to wear Spartan shirts, NOT shorts/sweats (unless falling on gym day). The dress code will be strictly enforced this year, per administration. Please review it with your child.
Parking on campus will be a nightmare! If you need to pick your child up from school, please leave yourself extra time and park in marked areas.
If by chance your child is on detention, detention will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 at the elementary school and 1 Saturday/month at the high school. Hopefully that won't affect you!
Have a great 1st week! Look forward to a great year!
