Spelling - Tuesday we will have the post test for those who need to take it on compound words. I will be out on Wednesday for a doctor appt. so we will have the next pretest on Thursday or whatever day we have school after that if there is any cancellations.
Grammar - We had our test on verb tense on Monday. We will not start a new lesson in grammar this week as I would like to spend time having everyone write their own myth explaining something in nature such as day/night, the seasons, etc.. Put your thinking caps on as we will begin to brainstorm today ( Tuesday) and write rough drafts Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we will edit and rewrite final drafts and then take time to share our writings.
Reading - An in class online test is scheduled for Wednesday this week on the Pearsonsuccessnet.com site. The test will be on the vocabulary words ( gleamed, brilliant, shimmering, chorus, coward), identify words that have the same root word and therefore some relationship to each other. You will have to read a myth and answer questions finding generalizations. On Thursday and Friday we will review skills cause/effect, main idea, and generalizations. Next week we will start the next story.
Science - We are continuing our folders on the solar system. The folder will be a grade so remember to complete each assignment given.
VALENTINE party will be Friday, Feb. 14. ANY homeroom parents are WELCOME to come and join us. Our party will be from 1:30 to 2:30 due to chorus practice at 2:30. Anyone student bringing valentines can bring them in any day this week .
