Week of February 4 - 8, 2013


Monday, Feb. 4

VO- Test on words 18 - 35 will be tomorrow instead of today.

spelling - test today on possessives. We will not have a new list this week.

Grammar- this week we will not be starting a new grammar lesson as we wrap up our unit in reading. We will be working on writing activities.

reading - new story The Great Kapok Tree, do vocabulary assignment following given on p. 363 of the reading textbook

Science - We are working on a packet that goes with our investigations on electricity and magnetism. This packet will be due on Friday. Study the packet ( as I will review on Thursday) for a test on Friday.


Thursday - Friday, Feb. 7-8, 2013

VO- our next test will be on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Study words 35 - 55.

Spelling- next week will continue with our spelling lessons. We will have a pretest on the next list ( 16) which can be found on page 61 of your spelling book.

Reading - We will be working on the scavenger hunt/ tri-folds the next few days. Please review all work completed. Test on the story The Great Kapok Tree will be next Tuesday or Wednesday depending on weather and any schedule changes.

Science - We will be going over the magnetism packet in class today. Study the packet over the weekend for a test on Monday.
