Week of November 27- November 30, 2012

Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.


Homework for this week:

Tuesday, November 27

Spelling - we will have a pretest today. Correction 3 times each for those who need to complete. Also, complete p. 17 and p. 18 in your spelling books ( those who are not exempt). Post test will be Friday.

Reading - We will be working on finishing up the scavenger hunt for the story "Marvin of the Great North Woods". The test on this story will be Thursday of this week. Study the scavenger hunt and vocabulary words.

Grammar- we are working on plural possessive nouns this week. Plural possessives add either just an apostrophe to the end of the word ( if it ends in s) or add an apostrophe and an s ( if the PLURAL word does not end in s). Homework tonight is grammar p. 38

VO - Study the ROOT words and words 1 - 30 for a test on FRIDAY of this week.

Science - We are continuing the study of bones and muscles. We will be completing more information sheets this week and then plan to have a test next MONDAY, Dec. 3 on the bones ( a study guide will be sent home to study).


Wednesday, November 28

Spelling - Study list words and complete p. 19 - 20 in your spelling books

reading - Study for test tomorrow on "Marvin of the Great North Woods"

Grammar- complete p. 39 in the grammar practice book, test on FRIDAY

VO - Study ROOT words and words 1 - 30, test on Friday



Thursday, November 29

Spelling - Study for test tomorrow ( unless you received a 100% on pretest)

Reading - NO homework tonight

Grammar- review p. 37 - 40 in the grammar book for a test tomorrow on plural possessives

VO - Study ROOT words and words 1 -30


Friday, November 30


Spelling - Study over the weekend for the next list which you will find on p. 41 in your spelling books. The list words all end with either -ed or -ing.

Reading - Sentences using the next vocabulary word list that goes with the next story "The Stranger"

Grammar- NO homework

Science - Study the study guide on the bones over the weekend, test will be Monday.
