Week of May 5- May 9, 2014


Grammar- Tuesday we will begin to work on comparative and superlative adverbs. Homework will be p. 94 in the grammar practice books. Wednesday p. 96 will be assigned for homework. Thursday we will review and Friday or Monday we will have short test ( depending on what we get covered due to all day band practice on Tuesday for many of you)

Reading - We are working on story "Jim Thorpe's Bright Path". We will practice finding the facts and opinions in a story ( and if the opinions are valid or faulty). Monday's homework will be practice book p. 267-268. Tuesday will be practice book p. 265 - 266, Wednesday will be to pick a famous athlete and write 5 facts and 3 opinions ( this can be handwritten or typed), Thursday will be to create a short comic strip summarizing Jim Thorpe's life. Test on this story will be Friday.


Science - we are starting a unit on plants this week.


Spelling - the post test on the current list will be Wednesday ( the list goes with the story "Jim Thorpe's Bright Path". The next pretest will be Friday on the words that go with the story "Tia lola come to visit/stay".
