Well hopefully we will get a full week of school in this week. Following is what is planned for the week. I have not been putting exact homework down on this blog due to so many changes that have been happening the past weeks. Students should always be sure to copy down the homework each morning. Many students have been using recess time and time at the end of the day to work on their homework and that is fine.
Reading - We are starting a new story called "Eye of the Storm". This is a non-fiction story about a real storm chaser and his account of Hurricane Andrew. The skills we will be reinforcing this week are : generalizations, cause-effect, main idea and details, and inferring. There will be some practice book pages given for homework on these skills throughout the week. I am planning on giving the test that goes along with this story on FRIDAY of this week or MONDAY of next depending on if we have any disruptions.
Grammar- This week we will be practicing irregular verbs. Test will be either Thursday or Friday.
Spelling - practice book pages 57- 60 are due on Tuesday. Post test for those who need to take it will be Wednesday ( list 15 possessives). We will then have our next pretest most likely on Friday of this week.
Science- We are going to be finishing up our solar system folders. There will be a short test either MOnday or Tuesday of next week on some basic things that will come from the folder. The folder itself will count as TEST grade so make sure that it is complete by next Monday.
Have a great week! Hopefully we will get outside for recess. Only a few more weeks and it will be spring!!! YEHHHHHHH!!!!!
