homework for week of November 5 - 9, 2012

Monday, November 5

spelling - We are starting lesson 8 and today we will have the pretest. Corrections are to be made in the spelling notebook 3 times each. Complete spelling book pages 29- 30

VO- New vocabulary list for the second quarter will be coming home. Our first quiz on this list will be next week. Start to review the highlighted areas each night.


Grammar- we are working on irregular plurals this week. Test will be on Thursday. Finish workbook p. 30 for homework.


Science- We are working on a Super Science magazine on Monday and Tuesday. Some worksheets will be sent home to finish as homework and will be due on Thursday. Thursday will be begin our study of the human body starting with the skeleton. We will be using the FOSS science materials for this.

Reading- no homework tonight. Tomorrow we will begin our new story called "Grace and the Time Machine". The genre of this story "play".


Tuesday, November 6

Spelling - complete workbook pages 31 - 32 and study the list words. We will not have a second pretest this week. The final test for this list is on Thursday.

Grammar- complete grammar p. 31

VO- Study highlighted words, prefixes, suffixes, and root words

Science- Finish any worksheets from the super science magazine supplement.

Reading- New story "Grace and the Time Machine". Write sentences in your reading notebook using the new vocabulary for this story. Make your sentences NEAT and be sure to use them correctly. Sentences should be at least 5- 7 words long.



Wednesday, November 7

Spelling - Study for tomorrow's test

Grammar - Test tomorrow - study and finish grammar pract. book p. 32

VO- Study

Reading- complete reading workbook p. 74


Thursday, November 8

spelling - begin to study over the weekend next week's list words. The words can be found on p. 33 of your spelling practice book.

Grammar- No homework

Reading - read "Grace and the Time Machine" over the weekend and complete the trifold.

Science - No homework

VO - Study , first quiz will be on Tuesday, November 13. Quiz will be on suffixes and words 1 - 15
