Homework for this week:
Monday, Oct. 15th
Reading- we are starting a new story in unit 2 called "What Jo Did". The genre of this story is fiction and the focus skill is cause and effect. Homework tonight is to take the new vocabulary words and write sentences using each word. The sentences should be well written and should show that you understand the meaning of the word. Sentences are to be written in your READING/Grammar notebooks. DON'T forget to start out with the date and title "Vocabulary sentences for What Jo Did".
Grammar- we are working on common and proper nouns this week. Grammar test will be on Friday. For homework tonight complete the BOTTOM portion of grammar practice book p. 22
Spelling- Our new list goes with the story "What Jo Did". Please complete p. 21 in your spelling practice book and write any incorrect words from the pretest THREE times each in your spelling notebook.
VO- Study words 41-65 and the root words- TEST will be MONDAY, OCT. 22.
Tuesday, Oct. 16th
Reading - Study the vocabulary words for story "What Jo Did". Complete reading workbook p. 57 on cause and effect.
Grammar- In your grammar/reading notebook, make a list of 5 common nouns and 5 proper nouns.
Spelling - complete p. 22 in your spelling practice book. Study the list words.
Wednesday, Oct. 17th
Reading - reread story "What Jo Did", do reading practice book p 53
Grammar- complete practice workbook p. 23 in your grammar practice books
Spelling - complete spelling book p. 23, pretest AGAIN tomorrow - STUDY your words
Thursday, Oct. 18th
Reading- Study the scavenger hunt that goes with the story
Grammar- study for test tomorrow on common and proper nouns
Spelling - complete p. 24 in your spelling practice book. POST test tomorrow for those who need to take it
Friday, Oct. 19th
Reading - TEST Tuesday, October 23 on story What Jo Did, study the scavenger hunt
Writing assignment - poem activity explained on p. 157 in your reading textbook. Due on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
