Kindergarten News
· This week for Phonics we will be focusing on the letter Ff and its sound as in fish and feather. We will have Show & Tell, so please follow your classroom schedule. Be sure to keep practicing blending and reading words from the weekly word lists.
· We will begin preparing for “Thanksgiving”. Students will learn about the first Thanksgiving, will make pilgrim and Indian costumes, and will begin to learn a poem or song for the holiday. We will make some turkeys and will also discuss being “thankful”. The students will even get to use an Indian name for a day!
· In Math, we will finish Chapter 4: Numbers 6-10. Please continue to practice counting and comparing sets and writing numbers correctly. We will be starting a new chapter, Geometry and Fractions. We will learn to recognize and name geometric shapes and equal parts.
· Thank you to Coach Oravitz for coming in to speak to Kindergarten about soccer and safety in sports in honor of letter Ss. It was SUPER!
· Just a reminder to parents to keep checking your child’s special classes’ schedule, so students have library books for exchange day and also sneakers for gym class.
Monday, November 17th will be Day 4!
